The Center for Prevention of Abuse has a variety of services and resources to help you if you are a victim of abuse. Coming forward as a victim is a deeply personal decision and we want you to know we are here for you and we believe you.

Emergency Safe Shelter
CFPA has two emergency shelters available for individuals fleeing violent or abusive situations.
Medical Advocacy
CFPA’s medical advocates are on call 24/7 to provide immediate intervention to support victims of domestic violence and sexual assault who are receiving treatment in local hospital emergency departments.
Orders of Protection
CFPA has court advocates in Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford County courthouses to assist with Orders of Protection.
Safety Planning
A safety plan is a personalized, practical plan of action that can help you if you’re experiencing abuse, are in an unhealthy relationship, or are in danger.
Therapy/Counseling
Therapy and counseling are available for victims of all forms of abuse.
Support Groups
Support groups are offered for clients to share experiences, support one another, and reflect on their healing.
Seniors/Adults with Disabilities
Services are available for seniors and adults with disabilities who live at home or in a long-term care facility.
NextStep Housing
Long-term housing is available in Peoria for individuals who are fleeing violent or abusive relationships.
Help for the Abuser
Help is available for perpetrators of abuse at CFPA’s Family Violence Intervention Program.
