Medical Advocacy

Abuse or assault can happen at any time, so CFPA’s medical advocates are on call 24/7 to provide immediate intervention to support victims of domestic violence and sexual assault who are receiving treatment in local hospital emergency departments.

Advocates provide emotional support, resource information, transportation, and referrals to community services. Each advocate also arrives with a change of clothes and other necessities since the victim’s clothes or belongings are often turned over for evidence collection.

CFPA is always seeking passionate and compassionate individuals to join the mission. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer medical advocate, please email Kelly at kward@centerforpreventionofabuse.org.
