A sea of teal filled East Peoria’s Levee District for the ninth annual “I Run With Survivors” 5K and one-mile walk, hosted by the Center for Prevention of Abuse during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Participants ran and walked in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence, turning the riverfront into a visible show of support, hope, and healing. Alongside raising funds for free and confidential services, organizers say the event helps strengthen a community where survivors feel seen, believed, and supported.
