SPECIAL EVENTS

Each year, The Center is involved in several special events that not only help to raise dollars that help our agency better serve our community, but that also help to raise awareness about the effects of violence on those who live in our own homes, neighborhoods, and communities.

Valentine's Ball

The Progressive Business Group (PBG) hosts the Annual Valentine’s Ball to benefit The Center for Prevention of Abuse. This black tie optional affair features a champagne reception, hot hors d'oeuvres, dinner and dessert, live music, and silent auction.

The PBG is made up of business men and women in central Illinois who have a good time fostering leadership and building long lasting relationships, while helping local charities improve the lives of those less fortunate. PBG’s relationships in the community broaden the event's recognition. Additional information can be viewed at www.progressivebusinessgroup.org.

Partners In Peace

Partners In Peace is an annual event hosted by The Center for Prevention of Abuse to raise awareness about The Center's services and to recognize community members who work tirelessly to further The Center's mission. Duck Race

Adopt a Duck... End Abuse! Thousands of adorable rubber duckies will be "adopted" by friends of The Center for Prevention of Abuse and dropped in the water on the Peoria Riverfront.

This massive yellow spectacle raises funds to open doors to safety for victims of domestic, sexual or elder abuse, and helps to change lives so that children and adults can protect themselves, so that seniors can have a voice, so that survivors can heal and so that everyone can live in peace.
