Prevention Educators talk with hundreds of parents each school year about ways of keeping their children and teens safe from stranger abduction, sexual abuse, bullying, cyberbullying and cyberstalking, and teen dating violence. We have presented in schools, churches, daycares, and community centers. Our educators are available to speak with groups of parents on a variety of topics related to keeping kids safe. Below are some of our frequently requested topics:
Child Abuse Prevention
Learn about the effects of domestic violence and sexual assault upon children. Know the warning signs of abuse and how to talk with your children about keeping their bodies safe.
Effects of Media/Internet Violence Upon Children
Children are greatly impacted by the violent images and messages they consume from the media and Internet. Discuss strategies for monitoring what your children witness, and also learn about cyberbullying and the effects that this form of violence can have on kids.
Bullying Prevention for Parents
How can you tell if your child is being bullied? What should you do if you think your child is a bully or is being bullied? We will answer these questions as well as talk about how bystanders are an important part of the solution.
Cyberstalking and Teen Dating Violence
Learn safety tips for preventing your teen from becoming a victim of cyberstalking. Also, learn how to talk to your teen about dating violence and know the warning signs of a violent dating relationship.
