The Center's Prevention and Children?s Services reach more than 15,000 students each year. Its programming for kids focuses on prevention education to stop violence before it happens and intervention for those who have experienced violence.

Prevention Education Programming

The curriculum that The Center utilizes is aimed specifically at violence prevention/behavioral skills training and sexual assault/abuse prevention education. Presentations and trainings are conducted for pre-k through college aged students, parents of school age children, school staff and community groups. Trained presenters are available to work with all populations in the community in these areas.

Children's Services

Trained staff provide the following for children who have been exposed to violence and their families:

¨ Follow-up services
¨ Information about the Center?s and other community services
¨ Parent support groups
¨ Children support groups
¨ Family activities and special events
¨ Individual children's counseling
¨ Children?s group counseling
¨ Teen support groups
¨ Family counseling
 
Childcare is also provided for families that access The Center's services.
¨ Childcare is limited to 4 hours per day
¨ Childcare can be provided for employment, health, legal, and housing related appointments.
¨ Please call with requests 24 hours in advance. Special considerations will be given to emergency situations.
