I Need Help for Myself

The Center for Prevention of Abuse has a variety of services and resources to help you if you are a victim of abuse. Coming forward as a victim is a deeply personal decision and we want you to know we are here for you and we believe you.

Our services are free and confidential and our crisis line is available 24/7 at 1-800-559-SAFE (7233).

Emergency Shelter

CFPA has two emergency shelters available for individuals fleeing violent or abusive situations.

Therapy/Counseling

Therapy and counseling are available for victims of all forms of abuse.

Orders of Protection

CFPA has court advocates in Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford County courthouses to assist with Orders of Protection.

Safety Planning

A safety plan is a personalized, practical plan of action that can help you if you’re experiencing abuse, are in an unhealthy relationship, or are in danger.

Support Groups

Support groups are offered for clients to share experiences, support one another, and reflect on their healing.

Transitional Housing

Transitional Housing is available in Peoria for women and their children who are fleeing violent or abusive relationships.

Seniors/Adults with Disabilities

Services are available for seniors and adults with disabilities who live at home or in a long-term care facility.

Help for the Abuser

Help is available for perpetrators of abuse at CFPA’s Family Violence Intervention Project.
