Call for Nominations:

Outstanding Youth Leader in Violence Prevention Education

Presented by Verizon Wireless, Sponsored by The Center for Prevention of Abuse

The Center for Prevention of Abuse is now accepting nominations for its “Outstanding Youth Leader in Violence Prevention” Award to honor and recognize high school students in the tri-county area who are dedicated to building a safe school and safe community. Submissions are accepted now through March 31, 2018.

Students who attend any high school in Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford County and who have received some form of The Center for Prevention of Abuse’s Violence Prevention Education programming during their schooling are eligible to receive the award. The students must show significant commitment to creating a safe environment at home, at school, in their place of work, or out in the community. Maybe it’s a student dedicated to peaceful conflict resolutions, maybe they speak out against bullying, or maybe they create a positive and uplifting after-school organization. The Center wants to celebrate their successes and their efforts to build a safe space for everyone.

Anyone has the ability to nominate a student by completing the nomination form by submitting the form with the required video essay or written essay to Nominations are open through March 31, 2018 and one winner will be chosen from each county during the first week of May. There is no cost to the submission and creativity is highly encouraged.
